Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil has started earning and learning scheme to provide financial assistance to girls. Under this scheme, girls will be provided financial assistance of Rs 2,000 per month per month. Useful skilled manpower will be available to industries for this scheme and will help develop technical skills among students. employment options will be available for students and with education, they will be given the opportunity of direct industrial training.

Objective of the Scheme 

To provide training for employment to state girls, financial assistance is to be provided so that eligible girls can get training from various institutions, with the help of which they will be able to get employment later.

Earn And Learn Scheme – Eligibility

1. The applicant should be a citizen of the state of Maharashtra.
2. The beneficiary should be a girl.
3. The student should be admitted to the college or institution (affiliated or component).
4. Economically weaker girls will be eligible to avail the scheme.
5. Girls should be ready to work while doing their studies. The girl’s bank account should be linked to Aadhaar.

Selection Process 

The students will be selected on eligibility basis. For this, they have to register online. After this, an earning and learning committee at the college or university level will examine the applications. The principal will then approve the list of selected students.

Working time

• Girls will have to work in eligible institutions maximum 80 hours and 3 hours per day.
• The honorarium rate may vary – some institutes pay Rs 25 per hour and in other institutions, Rs 45 per hour is paid.
• However, some institutions may provide a high honorarium of Rs 75 and Rs 100 for general work for specific tasks like Software Development, according to Chaudhary Mahadev Prasad Degree College.
• The appearance is usually transferred through the check or bank based on the attendance record.
